Directory of packagings for transportation of radioactive materials
This directory of packagings is based on information provided by the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) field offices and their contractors for the AEC- owned packagings in active use in 1973. It updates the 1969 Directory--Shipping Containers for Radioactive Materials, by adding new AEC packagings which have come into use and eliminating privately-owned and some older containers. The data sheets for the packagings are arranged in sequence by the original Department of Transportation (DOT) special permit number. There are three indexes to assist in locating data on specific containers. Index A lists the containers by special permit number. Index B assists designers and shippers to select packaging by shielding and cavity size. Index C arranges the common names into three usage groups. (TFD)
