An expression for the coefficient of diffusion in heterogeneous media is estsblished starting with calculations of the time of flight in a reactor zone using a minimum of approximations. This expression is then used for the free path. Equations are set up to a classical lattice composed of a moderator, a cylindrical annular cavity, and a solid fuel rod. Corrections due to angular correlations are applied, and corrections dependent on the laplacian are studied. Finally, applications of the method are discussed. (T.R.H.)
