Title: A TRANSISTORIZED RADIATION METER, TYPE MST-2 (in Polish)

Journal Article · · Nukleonika (Poland)
OSTI ID:4131394

The meter consists of a G-M counter and a univibrator, which drives a diode pump; thus, the output voltage of the meter is proportional to the logarithm of the count rate. The proportionality constant is governed by the gradually variable time constant of an RC clipping circuit following the univibrator and of the time constant of the diode pump; both are varied by means of a ganged selector switch to which 3 sets of condensers and a set of bleeder resistors are connected. The output voltage is converted to a current reading by means of an emitter-follower buffer stage and a microammeter; the output of the former is also coupled to 2 Schmitt trigger circuits, each of which may be set at a desired output level from the diode pump. These trigger circuits may be used to indicate 2 separate limits of the output and may thus serve as an automatic control for audible radiation warning devices. The meter may be set at 100, 1000, and 10,000 pulses per second. At its optimum adjustment, the output of the meter is logarithmic within about 3.5%. (TTT)
