Search for quarks and gluinos in p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.8 TeV
During the 1992-93 run of the Tevatron, D0 has performed a search for production of squarks and gluinos consistent with the Minimal Sypersymmetric Standard Model via the multijet and missing transverse energy signature. Data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 13.5{+-}1.6 pb{sup {minus}1} were analyzed, and no excess of events above Standard Model backgrounds was observed. For a choice of MSSM parameters, they set a 95% confidence level lower mass limit of 212 GeV/c{sup 2} for production of equal mass squarks and gluinos and a lower gluino mass limit of 144 GeV/c{sup 2} for production with heavy squarks. For the present run of the collider, the authors are expanding the analysis to search for all processes within the Minimal Supergravity Model with the multijet and missing transverse energy signature. The predominant source of this signature will be from squarks and gluinos, though associated production of squarks or gluinos with charginos or neutralinos will contribute as well.
