The hearing addresses the overview of the Department of Energy Hydrogen Research and Development (R&D) Program. The program was enabled by the Spark Matsunaga Hydrogen R&D Act of 1990. With the expiration of the authorizations the committee considers the need for R&D effort to accelerate the use of hydrogen beyond the parameters in the prior legislation. Statements of government and industry officials are included along with documents submitted for the record.
