Theoretical and experimental research has been conducted on absolute cross section measurements of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) emission spectra following H{sup +} and e{sup -} high energy bombardment of He gas targets. Quantum interference effects are caused by coherent superposition of different scattering amplitudes which are very sensitive to few electron dynamics. The scattering amplitudes are used to generate a series in power dependences m of Z{sub p}{sup m} with complex coefficients of projectile charge terms. Our semi-empirical analytic formula models the charge state-, velocity-, and Rydberg state dependence of ionization-excitation cross sections. If the first and second order scattering amplitudes add coherently, the Z{sub p}{sup 3} dependence of the cross section dominates which fit well with our recent experimental results He{sup +} (np) states for n=2,3,4 and 5.
