Some Features of ICR Heating by a Solenoidal Antenna
- Russian Academy of Sciences, Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian Division (Russian Federation)
A study is made of some characteristic features of ion cyclotron resonance (ICR) heating in plasma-based isotope separators. The effects associated with ion drift in the RF field of a solenoidal antenna are considered in the single-particle approximation. Estimates are obtained and numerical calculations are carried out for ICR heating in the case of a 'narrow' ({rho}/r {approx} 1, where {rho} is the ion gyroradius) plasma flow.
