The precision spectroscopy of kaonic hydrogen and kaonic helium x-rays offers a unique possibility to precisely determine the K{sup -}N strong interaction in the low energy limit. Results and status of modern experiments using silicon drift x-ray detectors (SDDs), namely, KEK E570, SIDDHARTA at DA{Phi}NE and E17 at J-PARC, are discussed.
