Measurement of the Wrong-Sign Decays D{sup 0}{yields}K{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0} and D{sup 0}{yields}K{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}, and Search for CP Violation

Using 281 fb{sup -1} of data from the Belle experiment recorded at or near the {upsilon}(4S) resonance, we have measured the rates of the ''wrong-sign'' decays D{sup 0}{yields}K{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0} and D{sup 0}{yields}K{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} relative to those of the Cabibbo-favored decays D{sup 0}{yields}K{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup 0} and D{sup 0}{yields}K{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}. These wrong-sign decays proceed via a doubly Cabibbo-suppressed amplitude or via D{sup 0}-D{sup 0} mixing; the latter has not yet been observed. We obtain R{sub WS}(K{pi}{pi}{sup 0})=[0.229{+-}0.015(stat){sub -0.009}{sup +0.013}(syst)]% and R{sub WS}(K3{pi})=[0.320{+-}0.018(stat){sub -0.013}{sup +0.018}(syst)]%. The CP asymmetries are measured to be -0.006{+-}0.053 and -0.018{+-}0.044 for the K{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0} and K{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} final states, respectively.
