Materials Data on Pr3Lu by Materials Project
LuPr3 is beta Cu3Ti-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Lu is bonded to twelve equivalent Pr atoms to form LuPr12 cuboctahedra that share corners with six equivalent LuPr12 cuboctahedra, corners with twelve equivalent PrPr8Lu4 cuboctahedra, edges with eighteen equivalent PrPr8Lu4 cuboctahedra, faces with eight equivalent LuPr12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent PrPr8Lu4 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.65 Å) and six longer (3.67 Å) Lu–Pr bond lengths. Pr is bonded to four equivalent Lu and eight equivalent Pr atoms to form PrPr8Lu4 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent LuPr12 cuboctahedra, corners with fourteen equivalent PrPr8Lu4 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent LuPr12 cuboctahedra, edges with twelve equivalent PrPr8Lu4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent LuPr12 cuboctahedra, and faces with sixteen equivalent PrPr8Lu4 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Pr–Pr bond distances ranging from 3.63–3.72 Å.
